The GCU for Zenmuse Z15-GH3 from DJI – or gimbal control unit – can be thought of as a mini computer responsible for keeping the camera pointing where it should be while interpreting user inputs. The GCU offers three control modes: Orientation-Locked control mode, Non-Orientation-Locked, and Back to Mid-Point (horizon). These three modes can be switched using the control software, adapting the Z15 to the varied requirements of aerial photography.
